Giving Back

Since opening our doors in 1996, we have given a donation each year to the Oprah Angel Network, our charity of choice. The Oprah Angel Network gives 100% of its donations to its charities. Among its projects, the Oprah Angel Network has helped to build hundreds of homes in New Orleans for those displaced after Hurricane Katrina, has built schools and provided uniforms and books for children in South Africa and is a continuing force in fighting for the freedom and rights of women, children and families all over the world.

In 2006 we began volunteering with an organization in our community called The Clara White Mission. Among other things, the Clara White Mission feeds homeless people in Jacksonville every day and has a culinary program for adults that teaches them the skills they need to attain jobs. An arm of this program is dedicated to children and is called Greater Expectations. Because this program has become close to our hearts we have decided to dedicate our charitable giving this year to the Greater Expectations program.

For 2009 Jill's Consignment has chosen to support Women for Women International. Women for Women International provides women survivors of war, civil strife and other conflicts with the tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency.

In 2010 we gave to families and individuals in our community.

In 2011, we gave to Volunteers In Medicine, a free clinic for the uninsured in our community that utilizes the skills of retired physicians, nurses and dentists to provide health care services to the working uninsured. www.volunteersinmedicine.org

In 2012, we helped purchase uniforms for the Matthew Gilbert Middle School 'Lady Panthers' basketball team led by coach Cedric Williams. Go Panthers!

In 2012, we also gave to the Jacksonville Jewish Center's L'Dor V'Dor society. L'Dor V'Dor, means "from generation to generation" and provides financial support for a Jewish education.

In 2017, we donated to the silent auction for Jacksonville’s River Garden Hebrew Home.

In 2019, we gave to Bryan Stevenson’s Equal Justice Initiative (EJI.org). We’re grateful to Mr. Stevenson for his relentless pursuit of justice and for being a voice for those who can’t speak for themselves. We’re especially grateful for Mr. Stevenson’s support of Julius Jones whose cause we are passionate about. If you’d like to learn more about Julius please visit justiceforjuliusjones.com
